The celebration of passion and excellence takes form at the Merano WineFestival with the conferral of two special awards: the Zierock Prize and the Godio Prize. These accolades, rooted in tradition, innovation, and dedication, honor the philosophies and works of two emblematic figures in the world of enology and gastronomy.

Prof. Rainer Zierock embodied the perfect union between wine and science. Founder of the Dolomytos Winery in Auna di Sotto, his love for Greek mythology and passion for oenology gave birth to wines produced according to the pentagram principle, blending Italian and Greek grape varieties in a unique harmony. Similarly, Giancarlo Godio stands as a pillar in Italian culinary history, bringing his passion and mastery to the art of cooking. Established as a prestigious name in the gastronomic scene, he earned a Michelin star, becoming a reference point for gourmets throughout Italy and Europe.
