About

The Essence of Our Terroirs
The Bertani family’s diverse estates carry a heritage that can be read in every wine.
From the heart of Valpolicella Classica to the limestone hills of Soave and the elevated vineyards of Valpantena, every wine by the Bertani family at Tenuta Santa Maria begins with a precise sense of place.

Our estate vineyards are cultivated to express the diversity of Verona’s finest landscapes: ancient parcels, native grape varieties, exclusive Corvina clones and massal selections from our old vines, together with rare and ancient local varieties that form part of the genetic and cultural heritage of the territory.
Amarone Riserva, Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Ripasso, Recioto and Soave, together with the cru wines Torre Pieve Chardonnay and Decima Aurea Merlot, are different readings of the same philosophy: purity of origin, elegance, freshness and depth.

At the centre of this vision is the vineyard. Each wine is shaped by the character of its soils, exposures and microclimates, with the aim of revealing terroir with transparency rather than imposing a style upon it.
