L’azienda

Frantoio Paparella is a historic oil mill based in Puglia, Italy, founded in 1891. Located in Barletta, in the heart of Apulia, between the Ofanto valley and the plains of the Tavoliere di Puglia, it produces 100% Italian superior category Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The mill was born from the dream of grandfather Salvatore Paparella, who believed that the fertile soils of Barletta were the perfect place to establish his own olive oil production. Since then, the knowledge and passion have been passed down through generations of the family.
The olives are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and milled within 12 hours to preserve their organoleptic characteristics, and the oil is cold-extracted using mechanical and highly innovative methods at temperatures never exceeding 27°C.
The mill's flagship product is LÓLIO, which is produced from the most prized Puglian cultivars — Coratina and Peranzana. The frantoio currently operates 5 extraction lines, reaching a production capacity of around 200,000 tonnes of olives per season.
Its quality has earned numerous international accolades: a Gold Award at the New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), 3 Foglie from Gambero Rosso (the highest national recognition), inclusion in the Evooleum World's Top 100, and a Gold Award at Olive Japan.
Rooted in tradition yet forward-looking, Frantoio Paparella is a true ambassador of Puglian excellence in the world.
