This year’s winners of the WineHunter Platinum Award were announced at the 27th Edition of the Merano WineFestival. The award ceremony for the wines took place Friday night on the stage of the Kurhaus, while the ceremony for Culinaria and Aquavitae was held Saturday night at the splendid vigilius mountain resort.
During Merano WineFestival, parallel “Fuorisalone” events will be run by The Circle – People, Lands, Experiences. An area where it will be possible to share and learn the history of lands and products, enjoying tasting sessions and relaxing breaks.

Luis Haller is the winner of the 2017 Godio Prize. Virtual Reality as a “Virtual Reality Sanctissimus”.
Thus, this red wine has first place amongst the 25 Platinum wines selected by The Wine Hunter Helmuth Köcher.
After a year of evaluating more than 4,000 food products and wines, as well as the selection of 2,000 wines for the guide “The WineHunter Award”, Festival President and WineHunter Helmuth Köcher is pleased to announce the winners of the Plantinum Award, the highest honour of the Merano WineFestival.
From 11 to 13th November, the Merano WineFestival 2017 will focus on the Istrian peninsula and present, in the selection Focus Istria, those food products and wines from the emerging region, which festival president Helmuth Köcher has personally selected.
The Cooking Farm of the Merano WineFestival takes place over four days (10-13 November) at the Meraner Sandplatz. In addition to cooking demonstations, the presentation of special food products and exciting cooking themed talkshows, there will also be a specially themed lecture by Sternekoch Norbert Niederkofler.
Seminars themed around wine, its cultivation areas and history together with tastings that are open to visitors and all for a charitable purpose – these are the Charity Masterclasses of the Merano WineFestival.
gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano, renowned guests from the world of wine are invited to discuss the future and new trends in the world of wine. The focus of the discussion will be the latest developments in the area of natural and organic wines, as well as sustainability and research. Participants at the symposium, in advance of the 26th Merano Wine Festival, are: Attilio Scienza, Luca D’Attoma, Franz Josef Loacker, Werner Morandell, Angiolino Maule, Carlo Nesler.
