Piazza della Rena
Piazza della Rena is the square in the immediate vicinity of the Kurhaus
The Piazza della Rena is one of the main squares in the centre of Merano. It is located at the end of Corso della Libertà, opposite the Art Nouveau Post Bridge. This place is called “Piazza della Rena” because the Passirio river laid its sand between the banks and, therefore, on the square. In the past years, the Sandplatz hosted the Cooking Farm and The Circle, events with showcooking, entertainment and a meeting point for visitors of the Festival.
The Circle – people lands experiences
In 2018 and 2019, in Piazza della Rena, the event The Circle was organized, a place in which trade operators and the press, companies and enthusiasts could meet and relax while enjoying food and wine products and taking part in exclusive performances.
Cooking Farm
In the previous years, Piazza della Rena hosted star chefs and famous personalities for the Cooking Farm event. A moment of showcooking that involved from cooking masters, to starred chefs up to the South Tyrolean peasant women.
